Jazz, Italian jazz, and another brand new movie for New Mexico audiences. Ma quando arrivano le ragazze?.... will delight. This 2004 Film was the People’s Choice winner at the 2007 Dublin Italian Film Festival, demonstrating the universal appeal of jazz and Italian movies.

Giancarlo, an upper-middle-class saxophone player and a working class trumpeter (Nick), form a jazz quintet in Bologna. But when Nick is the only member of the band to attract serious attention, his rise to fame takes place while Giancarlo’s dreams continue to go unfulfilled.

Writer and director, Pupi Avanti, is know for blending comedy, drama and romance into a grand romp.

This Italian Film Festival presentation will be preceded by a live jazz concert of our own. In cooperation with the New Mexico Jazz Workshop, the combo of jazz and a jazzy movie will be just $7…….again, a donation to the UNM Children’s Hospital.
